Laura Adella Badgerow was born in Iowa, February 24, 1865, and departed from this earth December 2, 1942, at the home of her son, Joseph Shippy, at Moorestown, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 8 days.
Mrs. Mathews moved to Missouri and later to Michigan in her early childhood. She was united in marriage to Alvin Jerome Shippy in 1881, at Winterfield, the latter whom preceded her in death 32 years ago. Two children were born to this union.
In 1920 she was united in marriage to John Mathews of Jennings. He preceded her in death 12 years ago.
She leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter, Mrs. John Crowder of Jennings, and a son, Joseph Shippy of oMorestown [sic]; eight step-children and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Dunovan of Newberry, iMchigan [sic], and Mrs. Phoebe Youngs of Seattle, Washington; one brother, Charles Badgerow of Sparta, Mich. She also leaves one granddaughter and six grandsons, 18 great-grandchildren, besides several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

We wish to express our thanks to all our friends who so kindly assisted us in the death of our dear mother and grandmother; the pallbearers, those who used their cars, the singer, also those who furnished dinner and helped to prepare it; especially do we thank Rev. Parks for his comforting words.
