Services held for Wilda Shippy

Services for Wilda Mae Shippy, 75, Colome, were held Oct. 30 [1982] at Calvary Chapel with Rev. Don Lettellier officiating. Burial was in the Colome Cemetery.

Mrs. Shippy died Oct. 28 [1982] at the Burke Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 2, 1907 in Hawleyville, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson.

She was united in marriage to George Allen Shippy, Jr. on April 25, 1927. To this union three children were born: Harold Allen, George Robert (Bob) and Carrol Orene. They made their home near Colome where she lived until the time of her death.

Survivors include two sons, Harold, McCook, Neb., and Bob, Colome; one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Marsh, Sheldon, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, two brothers, one great grandson and her parents.

Wilda Shippy

Pallbearers were Harold Steinke, Larry Bertram, Joe Wranek, George Waterbury, Gene Bruns and Don Shea.

Mrs. Shippy died Oct. 28 [1982] at Burke Community Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 2, 1907 in Hawleyville, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson. She came to South Dakota with her parents in 1909. She spent her childhood with her family on a farm north of Colome where she attended rural school.

She was united in marriage to George Allen Shippy, Jr. on April 25, 1927. To this union three children were born: Harold Allen, George Robert (Bob) and Carrol Orene.

They made their home near Colome where she lived until the time of her death.

She was baptized in 1947 and became a member of the Calvary Chapel where she taught Sunday School.
