Mrs. Nathan A. Shippey

WESTPORT—Services for Mrs. Elsie Baker Shippey, 86, of 19 Oak street, widow of Nathan A. Shippey and mother of Fire Chief Harold A. Shippey, who died Monday [Nov. 3, 1969], will take place Thursday [Nov. 6, 1969] at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist church. The Rev. Ashley Calhoun, assistant pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in Willow Brook cemetery.

The Charles H. Lewis funeral home, 210 East State street, is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Westport, Mrs. Shippey had resided here all her life. She had retired from the Fillow Flower company in 1961. She had been a member of the United Methodist church.

Survivors are two sons, Harold A. Shippey, and Lester A. Shippey, both of Wesport; a daughter, Mrs. Peter Carrara of Westport; a brother, Earl Beers of Norwalk; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Fanning of Florida, and Mrs. Cora Renstrom of Norwalk; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
