OAKFIELD—Mrs. Alice L. Shippey, 84, of 7 Maple Ave., widow of George P. Shippey, died at 7:45 p. m. Wednesday (Dec. 3, 1952) at Genesee Memorial Hospital in Batavia where she had been a patient since Sept. 14.
Mrs. Shippey was born in New Berlin on March 11, 1868, a daughter of Oliver and Mary Elizabeth Arnold. She had spent most of her life here. Mr. Shippey died Nov. 16, 1951.
Surviving are a step-son, Frank Shippey of Oneonta; a step-daughter-in-law, Mrs. Paul Shippey of Auburn; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. Saturday [Dec. 6, 1952] at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald S. Morrissey of St. Michael's Church officiating. A committal service will be at 2 p. m. Sunday [Dec. 7, 1952] in New Berlin with the Rev. J. A. Hansen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.
