Mrs. Wilbur Shippy Succumbs Tuesday

Mrs. Wilbur M. Shippy, 46, of Second st., Berrien Springs, died Tuesday afternoon [Feb. 25, 1964] in Berrien General hospital at Berrien Center after an illness of several years. She had been a patient four days.

As Julia Hermann she was born April 12, 1917 in Polar, Wis., and was married June 8, 1949, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Wilbur Shippy.

Besides her husband she leaves one brother, Clarence Hermann of Rhinelander, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Olsen of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Steven Matakovie of Rhinelander, and her mother, Mrs. Nellie Hermann, also of Rhinelander.

Funeral services will be conducted at the McLauchlin funeral home at 2 p. m. Friday [Feb. 28, 1964] by Elder J. H. Rhoads, pastor of Pioneer Memorial Seventh-day Adventist church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p. m. today, Wednesday.

BERRIEN SPRINGS — Mrs. Wilbur M. (Julia L.) Shippy, 46, of 67 Second street, Berrien Springs, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday [Feb. 25, 1964] in Berrien County hospital, Berrien Center, where she had been a patient for four days. She had been in ill health for a year.

Mrs. Shippy was born April 12, 1917, in Polar, Wis. She married Wilbur Shippy June 8, 1949, in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

She was a member of the Pioneer Memorial church of Andrews University, Berrien Springs.

Besides her husband, survivors include a brother, Clarence Hermann of Rhinelander, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Olsen of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Steven Matakovie of Rhinelander; and her mother, Mrs. Nellie Hermann of Rhinelander.

Funeral services will be held Friday [Feb. 28, 1964] at 2 p.m. in the McLauchlin funeral home.

Elder J.H. Rhoades of Andrews University will officiate.

Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. this evening.
