Widow of William Shippee Dies At Son's Home Here

Mrs. Drusilla Baker Shippee, 86, died about 8 a. m. today [May 28, 1952] at the home of her son by a former marriage, Oscar O. Long of 222 Connecticut avenue, where she had resided for 30 years.

Mrs. Shippee, widow of William Shippee, had been in failing health but death was unexpected.

She was born in Killingly Jan. 31, 1866, daughter of Amanda and Amy Ann Armington Baker, and lived in Danielson until her marriage 50 years ago to Mr. Shippee.

From Danielson they moved to Putnam, remaining there until his death 30 years ago, when she came to this city.

Mrs. Shippee was a member of the Mizpah group of the Methodist church. Besides her son here, she leaves another son by her former marriage, William Frederick Long of Danielson; a brother, Elmer Baker, Plainfield; a sister, Mrs. Edward Adams, Danielson; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a. m. Saturday [May 31, 1952] at Byles Memorial home and interment will be at 2 p. m. in Putnam Heights cemetery, Putnam.
