Cathryne A. Wright, 93, of 104 Eisenhower Drive died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday [Apr. 22, 1981] at Brokaw Hospital.

She was taken to Main Memorial Home.

Cathryne Wright

The funeral of Cathryne A. Wright, 93, of 104 Eisenhower Drive, who died Wednesday [Apr. 22, 1981] at Brokaw Hospital, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday [Apr. 24, 1981] at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday.

She was born July 7, 1887, in Fayette County, a daughter of Emanual and Julia Owings Anderson, She married Benjamin Wright Feb. 2, 1919, in Herrick. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Helen Shippy, 104 Eisenhower Drive; a brother, Bennett Anderson, Pana; and a sister, Mary Fought, Crown Point, Ind.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Wright was a member of the American Association of University Women and First United Methodist Church of Decatur. She taught at Washington Grade School, Decatur, for 36 years before moving to Bloomington.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Main Memorial Home is in charge of local arrangements.

The funeral of Cathryne A. Wright, 93, of 104 Eisenhower Drive, who died Wednesday [Apr. 22, 1981], was Friday [Apr. 24, 1981] at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey.

Mrs. Wright married Benjamin Shippy Feb. 2, 1919. His name was incorrect in Thursday's Pantagraph.

Cathryne Wright

Cathryne Wright, 93, of Bloomington, formerly of Ramsey, died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 22 [1981], in Brokaw Hospital, Bloomington. She was born July 7, 1887 in Herrick, a daughter of Emanuel and Julia Owing Anderson.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Decatur, was a retired teacher, and a member of American Association of University Women.

Surviving are her daughter, Helen Shippy of Bloomington; brother Bennett Anderson of Pana; sister Mrs. Mary Fought of Crown Point, Ind. Eight brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday [Apr. 24, 1981] in Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, with Rev. J. Arnold Olsen, of First United Methodist Church of Decatur officiating. Mrs. Mark Miller was organist and Mrs. Jack Wolfe was vocalist. Visitation here was from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial was in Ramsey Cemetery.
